ShadowBudget (“the App”) is a consumer decision simulator. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how it is used. By using the App, you agree to this policy.
1. Summary
- We do not require an account.
- Your financial notes and shadow items stay on your device.
- We do not operate a server that uploads your spending data.
- The current version includes no advertising SDK and no analytics SDK.
2. Data stored on your device
The App stores the following locally using Apple technologies (such as SwiftData and App Group storage):
- Shadow items you add (name, price, desire level, sources, cool-down status, etc.)
- Settings you configure (income, work hours, cool-down rules, savings assumptions)
- Financial goals you create
- Simulation / report-related records generated in the App
- Purchase entitlement cache needed to unlock Pro features and scenario packs
Widget data may be shared with the ShadowBudget widget through the App Group

3. Permissions
- Camera / Photo Library: used only to help you capture or recognize prices locally. Images are not uploaded by us.
- Notifications: used for cool-down reminders and follow-up prompts you enable.
You can revoke permissions in iOS Settings at any time.
4. Purchases
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details. Apple may provide us with purchase receipts / entitlement status so the App can unlock features you paid for. Purchase history is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and your Apple ID settings.
5. Third parties
The current version does not integrate third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. If the App later shows partner / affiliate links, those destinations are operated by third parties and governed by their own policies. Any such links will be labeled (for example, “Partner recommendation”).
6. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). Do not use the App if you do not meet the applicable age requirement.
7. Your choices
- Delete items and goals inside the App.
- Delete the App to remove local App data from the device.
- Manage subscriptions in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Restore purchases in the App if you reinstall or change devices.
8. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
