Applies to FreshQi / 鲜期 (engineering name FreshDay, Bundle ID com.funcgis.FreshDay).
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how the FreshQi / 鲜期 app (“the App”, “we”) handles information related to you.
Our principles: no account required; your item list and reminder settings are stored on your device by default; we do not sell your inventory data or use it for advertising profiles.
By using the App, you acknowledge this Policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the App and uninstall it.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Data that stays on your device
Content you enter or generate, including:
Item names, categories, notes, barcodes, and production / expiry / opening / warranty dates
Archive outcomes and optional amounts you enter (for waste / recovered insights)
Photos you attach
Reminder preferences (enabled categories and day offsets)
Local barcode cache, app settings, badge progress, and sealed annual-report summaries
This data is stored locally (e.g. SwiftData / UserDefaults) and may be shared with widgets via the App Group group.com.funcgis.FreshDay. We do not automatically receive a copy of your item list.
2.2 Device permissions
Permission
Purpose
Uploaded?
Camera
Scan barcodes; capture labels or item photos
Images are processed on device by default; not used for ad profiling
Photo Library
Attach images from your library
Stored on device unless you export and share a backup
Notifications
Local expiry reminders and the annual-report reminder
Delivered by iOS local notifications—not our push servers
2.3 Data that may be sent when you use online features
Only when you use network-dependent features may limited data be sent:
Barcode lookup — the product barcode; and an anonymous device identifier (app-generated, not your phone number or Apple ID) used for lookup limits and Pro entitlement checks. Yearly and Lifetime plans have different annual lookup limits (see in-app User Guide).
Product metadata returned — public fields such as name, brand, size, category hints, or image URLs used to prefill the form.
Purchase status sync — when our barcode backend is configured, Pro plan type (e.g. yearly / lifetime) and enabled status may be synced to enforce lookup limits.
Lookups may go through our configured API and/or third-party product databases (for example Open Food Facts or article-numbering services), depending on configuration.
2.4 Help & Feedback (when you choose to send)
If you use Settings → Help & Feedback or email us, the message may include your written feedback, the reply email you provide, the app version, and an anonymous device identifier to help with support (for example lookup-limit questions). That identifier is not shown in the feedback UI; it is only included in the email body after you send. Mail is addressed to funcgis@163.com.
2.5 Purchases and Apple
Subscriptions and lifetime unlocks are processed by the App Store / StoreKit. Apple handles payment details. We only learn entitlement status (e.g. whether Pro is active), not full card numbers.
2.6 What we do not collect
No sign-up with name, email, or phone number (you may optionally leave a reply email when sending feedback)
No third-party advertising SDKs for behavioral tracking (current version)
No App Tracking Transparency cross-app advertising identifier tracking
Photo recognition prefers on-device processing; package photos are not uploaded as advertising material
3. How we use information
Provide expiry / warranty tracking, reminders, archive insights, annual reports, and widgets
Prefill product details from barcodes and enforce Pro lookup limits
Validate purchases and help with support when you contact us
Improve reliability based on issues you describe—not by silently uploading your inventory
4. Sharing & third parties
We do not sell your personal information. Third parties are limited to what is needed to run the App:
Apple — system services, StoreKit, and (when used) system recognition capabilities
Barcode / product data providers — receive the barcode and return public product metadata; their own privacy policies apply
Feedback email you send — composed via the system Mail app to our support address after you confirm
Backups you export — once you share a file via Mail, AirDrop, cloud storage, etc., you control that distribution
We may disclose information when required by law or to protect users and the public, to the extent permitted.
5. Storage & security
Core item data remains on your device; uninstalling usually deletes local data.
The anonymous device identifier and settings live in on-device storage; reinstalling may create a new ID and affect lookup-limit continuity.
We use reasonable safeguards for network requests, but no transmission is perfectly secure.
6. Your choices
Deny Camera, Photos, or Notifications (related features will stop working)
Delete individual items, or uninstall the App to clear on-device data
Skip networked barcode lookup and enter everything manually
Manage subscriptions in the App Store; lifetime refunds follow Apple’s policies
Contact us about access, correction, or deletion of server-side data we control (e.g. lookup-limit records)
7. Children
The App is intended for general household use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information. If you believe such information was provided, contact us so we can address it.
8. Changes
We may update this Policy and revise the “Last updated” date on this page. For material changes, we will try to note them in the App or App Store release notes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
